1 - What classes is the guild looking for?
There is a separate sticky for this purpose, see here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1450
2 - What do I need to apply?
Hat, Sword, Magic Wand. ^_^
Ok, now seriously. We are a guild of people who enjoy having fun in a MMO, that means you should understand this is a game not life, you should be friendly and on your best behavior at all times. Ab Aeterno guildchat can also be very mature at times, so you should be 18 years or older when you apply. (This ain't being mean, just a legal thing)
You should further be willing to help and be helped in return, because that is what MMOs are in the end all about, playing together. We raid a lot, we group, we PvP, we try to never let one aspect of the game trail too far behind.
Got all? Awesome! If you got [The 1 Ring], that's a bonus ofc.
As for gearlevel and attendance, since we are currently specifically inviting for 25man raiding, we would ask from applicants to have at least some gear, so that is possible. Being able to at least sign for the about 2 25mans a week is pretty much a necessity (on average, we don't kick you if you can't make it some day), 10man attendance is entirely optional. Your gear should be of heroic+ quality (which is 219 before 3.3, and 232 after 3.3, but your average itemlevel will be lower, that's ok), and should show some basic signs for enhancement. We don't expect you to sink 1500g enchants and gems into blue items, but your higher ilvl gear should be up for the toughest content.
We don't automatically discard applications without these, but we need to prepare for 25manning, so we need to make sure we can stably run raids.
3 - Application Template
While everyone is fully free to provide their application in a way they think fits their character and player the most, if you're unwilling to do that or lack the creativity (can't blame you, I personally fail at anything creativity-related, too
- You, the player. Tell us a bit about yourself.

- Your characters, links to their armory, diagrams, colorful bubbles - whatever you deem fit to describe their awesomeness.
- Do you like cookies?
- Previous guilds and raiding experience.
- How active are you, playing-wise?
- Who in AbA do you know?
- Do you think that Blizzard should allow us to have multiple funpets at once?
- What expectations do you have, personally and guildwise?
- Are you currently applying to any other guilds in addition to Ab Aeterno?
- If you had to eat one crayon out of a box of 64, which color would it be and why?
4 - How does Recruitment work?
Recruitment in Ab Aeterno is a 4-step process.
First you apply, and we take a look at your app ofc.
You may be asked to come on a recruitment run with Ab Aeterno, however this is - if you're used to this from higher-end raiding guilds - not something like coming on a raid and us judging your performance. It can be an instance, a raid, a funevent, an old run on alts, four-manning Blackwing's Lair, anything like that. It's about getting to know you, members getting to see how you are as a person.
After the run you get an internal discussion, and voilá, you're now a recruit on trial!
After ~3-4 weeks, depending on your activity ingame, you get a permanent-Membership vote, which will give you access to the Recruitment-Control forums if successful, too. Welcome aboard.
5 - Current progress
Ab Aeterno has cleared most pre-ICC tiers, we never quite finished Ulduar25 however. We may revisit that one day.
We got drakes from hard mode Ulduar10 achievements, we went up the ToC10 ladder to the Tribute to Skill achievement.
In Icecrown our 25man is on the Lich King, our 10man has Sindragosa and Lich King left to kill on Hard Mode, and lacks the Sindragosa and Lich King achievements for the dragons.
We got someone who is "the Insane" \o/
